Tilt Bed
Anybody know who sells tilt-bed kits for pickups? (No, I don't plan on doing one; I just want to see one).

Re: Tilt Bed
A Tundra isn't quite the heavy duty truck you'd normally see a dump body on. Say what you want.......it's still a 1/2 ton truck. I don't think you'll have much luck finding a kit, I doubt there's much fo a market for it.

Re: Tilt Bed
That would save my back from the weekly yard waste recycling...would be a lot quicker to empty a full bed as well. I also couldn't find any Tundra specific applications. There's always a dump trailer, but that not as interesting.

Weight capacity isn't that big a deal for me.
I enter my Tundra in custom truck shows a lot, and if - I say IF - I decided to do this, it would be more for show than anything else.

That is the way I would go also....keeps things modular / less potential butchering of the factory arrangement. Better potential resale also, if you find the need for it is not there in the future.

Re: Tilt Bed
If you get a solution to the tilt bed, can you please keep us posted? I also been looking to save my back a little. I am currently considering to build an aluminium insert. The cost of some of thouse "dump kit's" is astronomical any way. For that price one can simply hire help as needed.

Re: Tilt Bed
Having a tilt bed would make cleaning the bed and frame much easier too. I would like to see pictures too of the tilt bed of a tundra in action.

There is a guy around here that hits the local car shows with a Tacoma that has a tilt-bed. Next time I see him, I'll ask him about it.

Re: Tilt Bed
Hi there,
I found this site looking for truck tilt bed info. After reading the comments here I realize there does not appear to be an aftermarket hoist system for a short bed Ford Ranger. My intent is to tilt the bed up to access the underside for potential use in battery storage for a future EV conversion. Anyway, Some of you desire to use the tilt bed as a dump to remove material. My suggestion would be to avoid the cost and time to install a tilt kit and purchase a Loadhandler bed
liner system (JC Whitney carries it for around $150) that is a flexible bed
liner that is rolled onto a rod at the tailgate and dumps the load that way. Offload 1 ton in less than a minute. There may be other similar systems out there, but this is the one I am familiar with (I have not used one, just seen the advertisements) Good Luck.

Actually, I wanted a Tilt-bed because it would look cool when I go to Truck Shows; not because I need to dump gravel or anything.
