Clifford 50.7x Installed
Well, after a long long wait, finally got my Clifford Matrix 50.7x installed a couple days ago. This is essentially the same model as the Viper 5901, both made by directed electronics, and have the same key fob, etc... Man, am I happy with this thing! The key fob is super cool, though I wish it was a bit thinner. Super easy to operate, and works very well. Able to easily start the truck from around the block, parking garages, etc.. It has a 1 mile range, but don't know when I'll really get a chance to test it. The 2 way key fob has a rechargable battery (same connector as motorola phones, and most other devices). Its got 4 battery bars, and after 3 days, still has 4 battery bars.. I'm curious as to how long I can go without recharging. The back up remote takes those circular type watch batteries. THe overall quality seems pretty good, the remote has a backlight, which I really like. Mostly, the thing is just easy to use, and works the first time I press a button. The temp sensor thing is pretty cool too.. Right now its 3 degrees outside, and the temp sensor tells me its 9 degrees in the car, so seems pretty accurate. Best of all is the price of it.. I got it for $450 installed (granted they screwed up the price, and honored the low price they gave me).. but even at $600 I'd be happy with this. Last remote start I bought was $350, was only a 1 way system (no LCD screen remote), and didn't even have an alarm.
