...the reporter gets a scooby snack for stating the painfully obvious...just wait 'til CNN headline news figures out that anything other than a ferrari has a high rollover probability during emergency handling...including saturns--one of my old roommates somehow managed to roll his saturn at about 30mph going around a corner.
"yes, SUVs and trucks have a higher rollover probability than cars. BE AFRAID! QUAKE IN YOUR BOOTS! FEEEAAAARRRR! WE, THE NETWORK PROGRAMMERS, WILL TELL YOU WHEN TO BE AFRAID!" (sorry, i'll be serious now

)
...in short, we've known it for a long time, that's why all trucks and SUVs have a sticker (usually on the back of the driver's sun visor) stating the higher probability of a rollover due to a higher center of gravity, and CNN can hardly be considered a reliable source anymore (if they ever could, but i am too young to know those days).
the way to verify CNN's claim for yourself is look at the slalom speeds for a tacoma vs. other vehicles similarly equipped--im willing to bet youll find a tacoma with the trd package is no more likely to roll than a ranger with ford's offroad package, but much more likely to roll than an M3. if you find that the tacoma has a lower slalom speed, even that doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to turn in to a ford exploder if you have to make an "emergency maneuver"...
