I remember several years ago on an episode of Trucks! that then host, Stacy David, showed one of these guys in the bed of a truck. I think the one he showed had the optional hitch attachment. I filed that info away and then earlier this summer I decided to buy one. The main reason was to get our Yamaha 3000 generator in and out of truck safely for our camping trips. For several years I used some homemade ramps and I was concerned that it was just a matter of time they would have slipped or I would have lost my footing trying to roll it up into the truck bed or rolling it down. My Tundra has an RCD 6" lift plus I'm running 35 inch tall tires so it was a little challenging getting it in and out. Plus I'm not getting any younger and I'd rather not risk a back or some other injury.
It works quite well and I used it yesterday to load the base of a concrete fountain for a friend into my truck and transported it to his home. The base weighs about 300 lbs and it lifted it no problem and held the load while we positioned it in the bed. I don't believe the two of us could have got it in my truck without injuring ourselves. Anyway, I'm real happy with it and the holster has not affected my ability to carry stuff in the bed. Yeah, it was a little pricey, but I do place a value on my health and safety.
