I strictly drive down hill. Only problem is I keep getting further and further from home and the cost of hotel rooms is ruining my fuel savings................Will try to get home for Christmas.

Is it possible that a new fuel filter would improve gas mileage in my 2001 tundra V8.

I know for a fact on mine it decreased my gas mileage.So its in the trash trueflow for me.

Agreed on the power/economy discrepancy. However, I am getting (when I feel like making the effort) 21-22 MPG with my '07 5.7 limited....no joke.

You have to do the following.......

1) Drive like a 90-year-old Asian woman (NEVER more than 60 mph)
2) Drive on the freeways more than in the city
3) Be very conscious about accelerating and braking -- don't do either unless necessary.
4) Don't gun it......EVER!!!!
4) Coast whenever you can.

It takes a fair amount of effort/concentration, but it's not that tough to do....if more MPG is what you're looking for.

Having said all that, it's much more fun to drive how you like and get 16 MPG. This truck is a rocketship.......love it!!!!!

I get better mileage with my wife driving she is slow and easy driver.
