Hours to install is suggested from 7 to 8 hours. I'll be doing it myself, so there won't be any $$ in the install. Warranty is a good question, I'll have to ask them.

Cost of kit is usually in the $4000 range, although I got it a little cheaper.

I'm more interested in the increased HP, not so much in the gas mileage, although with normal (What's that?) driving, it should gain just a little bit (1mpg, or maybe 2) but with a heavy foot, like a SC, it will for sure eat more gas.

I plan on getting a before & after dyno done, since there is a dyno shop about 100 yards from my shop, & I like to deal with actual HP figures, not some mythical "corrected" figgure, so this truck will seem to be unusually underpowered on the before dyno, since it's in Colorado, where the air is thin.

I hope to get going on the install this week, although, OF COURSE, our house is for sale, & we close on the 20'th, so instead of adding horsepower to my truck, I'll be packing boxes & moving furniture.. Grrrrr..

THis is to be continued...

install a turbo and headers. and try to date fewer fat chicks. as a matter of fact to save some mpg, turn off your engine and have your passengers get out and push you truck durring periods of heavy traffic.

I understand the headers but a turbo will increase gas mileage? I have only owned one turbo. You could see the gas gauge actually moving towards E when cruising at 120 mph.

Ya my S/C does the same thing

I think he was being sarcastic.
I have yet to see one of those "GAS SAVING DEVICES" actually work, and most people here I know say the same thing.

Well, of COURSE you are gonna suck down gas at 120mph. But, with a light foot, you will actually get slightly better milage with a turbo than withought, because of the free-er flowing exhaust, & the higher efficiency that your system runs with a turbo helping to push the air in, instead of relying on vacuum only.

I've had the turbo on for a few weeks now, & my highway milage has gone up about 1 mpg on average, but I've got over 150HP more when I stomp on it. That's a pretty good trade, especially at high altitude, here in Colorado.

I'll be getting a re-dyno, & another day at Bandimere for a 1/4 mile run next week.

A cover over the bed is supposed to be worth at least 1 mpg due to better aero quality.

Bed covers don't usually make enough difference to notice. Neither does removing the tailgate.

I've seen more complaints about aftermarket exhausts than success stories on TSF. Seems unless you get things juuuust right, performance and mileage suffer over stock. The stock system is very well engineered.

Any modification done on one side often requires one on the other. Intake vs exhaust. With the computer involved, it would probably take a savvy tuner to make peace with all the engine sensors in order to make everything happy.

Yes, but that supposed 1 mpg gain is offset by the increase in weight.

My cover only weighs about 150lbs. About the same as Cyberbilly's security system LOL. I wouldn't think that 150lbs would make that big of difference. I noticed about 2mpg difference with my cover mainly when I do alot of highway driving. I'm glad I bought it with the intention of keeping the cargo in my bed dry and safe though. When you pay $900.00 for an ARE hard cover it would take a long time to pay for itself based on fuel savings.

I own a 2000 Tundra, (210,000 miles) very impressed with ride, gas mileage okay (16mpg avg.).
I also own a 2007 Tundra (7,200 miles) Not As Impressed, Please tell me how to get 16mpg as indicated on the stick in the city , and at least 18mpg on the highway (20mpg stick) before iI trade the new truck in for something else.

Drive slower, avoid hard accelleration, keep the tires properly inflated, and the air filter clean.

If you are looking for cheap add-ons to improve your mileage, there aren't any.

Very good reply, How about post true mpg mileage ratings on 2007 5.7 L Tundras to the real 13 city/ 17 hwy ratings. No one I know with new Tundras see 16/20, they do see 12.5/ 17. Driving like my deceased grandmother is not reality. STOP MISLEADING!!
