Default Aftermarket Parts for an 04 AC

Hey guys, HAD a question. I just got my 04 tundra AC in the begining of march and already have a wish list that'll just about hit the floor, but its been hard finding the parts that i want for an 04. it seems as though the manufactures just havent updated their pages or catalogs for 04 parts yet. Now my question is as far as exterior body parts, what changes were made between an 03 -04 tundra AC? any at all? im trying to think if i can order 03 parts that'll fit on the 04. In particular, im looking for a gray Ivan Stewart front grille, clear corner lenses, clear tailights, possibly a K&N system (even though ive read stock is better from this site), and other misc. parts. Any info is helpful, ESPECIALLY if someone has or knows someone whos selling that type of a grille. IM on the lookout for one. Thanks again. - Doug

No change between 03'-04' acc. cab tundras body style.
Look long and hard and research the mods your thinking about doing befor spending your money-
clear corners/tailights= some have been said to allow moisture build up inside and a few dont fit correctly ....
IS grills = some have dimpled and oxidated
K&N is a joke = guys on the site have run on a dyno with a K&N and then replaced it with oem paper elemnt and gained 2h.p. from the stock one
Research is what you want to do - ill give you 2 best buys.........
Hellwig rear sway bar , Weatherflectors ( window vent covers )

Because.... if you ask anyone who's modded their Tundra, what the best bang for the buck was, the Helwig antiswaybar is in the top one or two. It greatly reduces bodyroll when cornering. Do a search and read hundreds of responses.

Well all i can say is my truck can turn more like a car now.
i have the supercharger and take corners with no hesitation now with the Hellwig - once you get it you will wonder how you did without it.

indeed i did a search right after you responded the last time; read most of the threads on the page and came to a decision actually that i didnt want one. Reasons for this (and you may correct me if you like): (1) i do happen to drive offroad often, not huge offroading but i do get out there trying to get to dirtbike tracks and trails (2) someone said something about it sliding and breaking lose in the rain, i like sliding and stuff cause im an agressive driver but it becomes annoying when u dont want it to slide. second concern in that same idea, what about in the snow, am i going to lose the back end everywhere i go(granted without the 4x4 on, it sucks in the snow anyways.? there was another reason also, i just cant remember it. so im not trying to be a pain, just curious about what im going to lose with it, when i do wanna drive over some rougher than normal terrain.

'Nuther for the Hellwig.
If you really want to dump the "ladder grille", I got mine from www.trdparts4u.com (Dallas Toyota). It is a complete part made for them by FMS in Cerritos, CA, and it does not require you to cut the stock grille or leave the hood release hanging like the billet grilles do.

Offroad, it's only problem will be the loss of articulation. Regular dirt roads won't be affected.
As far as reports of the truck getting loose, I'm not too sure. I had the feeling that it was oversteering on me when I first installed the bar, but I think it was just a matter of having to get used to a truck that didn't roll and UNDERsteer. It feels very solid, and my tires are quiet in the corners.

Give it a try. If you don't like it, I'm sure you can find a buyer here.

one more thing, how do you like that grille.. I def want to get rid of the stock one. and have been looking for the IS grille because i like the design and the red TRD emblem on it. But if this is close to that, then its cool, im sick of looking..

Honestly, if I were to do the seat covers again I'd go with a full set (front/rear) of Wet Okole. Not cheap, but very nice. I got mine from the dealer and they were about $130 for the front only (captain's chairs), but the fabric is the same as what was used on the '00-'02 and doesn't match the '03/'04 SR5 fabric.
The only reason I still have them on is my wife gave them to me for Christmas.

The IS grille will not fit an '03 or '04. Closest you can get from the factory would be the T3 grille, but they are very pricey and extremely hard to get. SteveG seems to be able to pull some strings and get them at Carson Toyota. They will not fit the DoubleCab. Mine came "clean" and I bought the TRD logo on ebay, so you could use any of several available TRD designs, or just leave it clean. It is also available for the DoubleCab... just contact Barbara King in parts at Dallas Toyota.

thanks for the info. i had also been looking at the wet okole's, theyre the only ones that ive liked so far, but pricey. I took a look at the grilles on the site u gave me and ordered one up, its the closer grille to what ive been looking for, that isnt over $500. thanks again!
