I searched many of the threads on RAPS (Ram Air Performance System) and have read a variety of claims...much of the info is from quite a while back. For the people that have invested the $99 (approx) in the RAPS, please give real life results that you have noticed.

Improved acceleration?
Improved mpg?
Decrease in performance?
No noticeable Difference?
Wasted Money?

Just looking for real results, not claims...thanks all

I should have mentioned, I'd be interested in results of RAPS with a stock air box. I currently have a stock filter on my 04 Tundra, but would be interested in a different drop in if someone has suggestion. Ideally, something that flows better than stock, but doesn't let in the dirt like K&N.

This dyno makes it look like the RAPS makes you lose power when installed on a stock truck.

That Dyno was done from my vehicle. The results BELOW 3000 RPM are inaccurate as a Tundra with automatic has torque converter slippage below 3K. I'm running a RAPS and picked up around 1 mpg and a bit of power from it. It works well with the SAB and keeps filtration and tempuratures as good and better the OEM (in that order).

Notice the RAPS soon catches the other curves after 3K then pulls ahead on upper end. Good product for under $100.00.

Trying to figure out what this means for my 04 V8 automatic below 3000 RPM? Did you pick up power below 3k or did you lose power below 3k. Sorry if I am asking a stupid question. thank you

Thanks for educating me. I was looking into a Aero Turbine muffler for my truck, but with my new found knowledge does this mean that the gains represented on the attached dyno are probably inacurate?

The graph is from a Tacoma off the aero trubine site. Do those share the same torque converter slippage characteristics?

Thanks,
Matt

On the V6 they (dyno) may well be accurate. If you dyno with a manual transmission then there is no torque coverter slippage...and the v6 has that option.

I'm not running a FIPK per say, just a true flow intake tube to stock airbox, and true flow high flow filter. I've heard they do help the FIPK though.
