Default Factory 6 disc changer died

It has not been a good couple of weeks for my truck. First the no start one morning, then the brake TSB and now the six disc changer died yesterday. I can't eject or load CD's, it just makes a bunch of grinding noises.

Am I better off going aftermarket or should I get this one replaced under warranty?

Thanks for the advice. Good idea.

They had to order a new CD player. Who knows when it will be in. IN the meantime, I have only three CD's stuck in the player but the indicator lights show 6 CDs and number one flashes constantly. It won't playCDs, even the display doesn't work.

Guess I am stuck listening to the 24 hr Christmas music one of the stations has on now.

BTW, they can't get the CD's out of the changer. They have to send the player in to have them "extracted" and mailed back to me.

...or pretty much any aftermarket headunit

IMO its not the factory headunits that sucks, but the cheap base grade amp and speakers which results in poor sound quality.
