Default Installed XM Audiovox XpressR unit today *pics*

I am happy with the overall results. Only thing I don't like is having the antenna on the dash. I don't get that great of a signal (50-75%) in my Apartment complex. But I have read of people having leaks when they remove the 3rd brake light. I will look into it later, but didn't want to screw with it today.

I mounted it using an Arkon 15” Flexible Gooseneck Swivel Mounting Pedestal, which is really nice because it connects to the bolt on the bottom of the passenger seat and the radio unit mounts on the pedestal using a T-bracket so need for screwing or modifying anything. Connected to AUX-IN behind the dash. All the wires are ran down the gooseneck using zipties and run up under the center console.

I ran mine through the 3rd brake light and it has rained about 80% of the time since I did the install. I have had no leaks and the reception is great. I did make sure to come out of the bottom of the brake light instead of the top.

You can pull back rubber seal just enough to push antenna wire through and then I used a Glue Syringe and put clear silicone in it and injected a small thin bead around the area where the wire comes through. Seems to work fine and the bead is clear and so fine you cannot see it when you climb up and look down on it.

Is this on the inside or the outside? I have taken the 3rd brake light out yet...
