You won't have to mess wit the headliner that way.

Here's the diagram of how I finally got things to work after finding the broken wire in my tailgate harness:

I'm still not convinced there may be similar circuits in the unused K9 plug or in the K3 plug behind the Nav but forewent the continuity check because I already had everything set up and buttoned up.
As an update to the above post, there is a connector for the rear camera harness behind the glove box. Forget the overhead or A-pillar. This new behind the glove box location would probably be the way to go. More information found here:

Do you know where it should be connected and what function it is used for? I am about to start my nav install and want to know if i need to connect this line for the parking brake. Thanks.

You only need worry about the K6 connector's parking brake pin (Pin 1) if you have an RSE (rear seat entertainment). That means there is a factory drop-down video monitor in the back seat area for the passengers to watch. I would assume any upgrade to Nav would not need this connection for any reason as there should be no RSE already in a non-nav vehicle. So basically you can forget about it. I just taped mine off when I did my install.

For clarification the parking brake connection is the purple wire in the following photo. Your color may vary so don't go by wire color, go by pin position in the connector. In this photo pin 1 is the one on the left. Now that you know which one it is, tie it off and forget about it.

I am looking to tap into this over head feed "K6" to wire a flip down monitor for the back seat. " basically a custom RSE." I am going to put the camera feed on SPDT switch with a dvd player in the glovebox. I am a novice but a brave one at that. Do I need to worry about the parking brake "green" wire or is what I am doing goin to do basically gonna bypass all that? Thanks for any help.

Anyone know which wire I splice into for the remote amplifier turn on?
