Default Upgrading Non-JBL To JBL

I'm looking at the audio wiring diagram for a 2005 Sequoia as I am going to install the JBL system (amp, speakers, and head unit) in it. This will replace the non-JBL factory system. I have the JBL radio and amp and the wiring harness to connect it to the amp and then back to speakers. The only problem is that there are separate outputs on the amp for the tweeter and woofer/mid (I have connected this up to the speakers and confirmed that there are separate signals). My solution was going to be to just run another set of wires from the amp to the woofer/mid and use the existing wiring run to the doors for the tweeters, but then I took at look at the wiring diagram.

My question is when you look at the 10 speaker diagram (see attached file) it shows outputs for FL-, FL+, WFL+, WFL-, FR-, FR+, WRL+, and WRL- for the front speakers. Since there are separate outputs I would assume that FL- and FL+ go the left front tweeter and WFL+ and WFL- go to the left front woofer/mid. The puzzling part is that the diagram not only shows this, but also shows the FL- connecting to the WFL- and FL+ connecting to the WFL+.

Can someone explain why this is connected that way and if I need to make that connection in my setup. Any ideas will be welcome.

For reference the 2005/2006 Tundra and 2006 Sequoia's show the same type wiring arrangement for the front speakers in the JBL setup. Also, The back speakers have RL+, RL-, RR+, and RR- and connections that are easy to understand.

Default Re: Upgrading Non-JBL To JBL

Not sure if this will answer your question but the JBL amp has separate outputs for the tweets versus the mid/woofer component. I wasn't sure by your post whether you are running new wire or using the harness. I have the JBL amp assuming the harnesses are the same for an 04 tundra I could give you the pin outs for the speaker wires to make sure you get everything set up right.

If your using the factory wiring harness it will just clip in to the speakers. All you have to do is match the color of the wires.

My guess as to why the amp is set up this way would be that the amp has internal crossovers to get the right frequencies to the right speakers
