I am installing an audiobahn amp and to 10's in my 2007 tundra double cab with the JBL factory system which has the 8' stock sub.
It was suggested that wiring in my new amp would be as simple as unhooking the leads from the stock amp and hooking into my aftermarket amp. This would give me signals and remote turn on for it. Then run new power and grounds.
Does anyone know if this will work? How might this be done? Anyone know where the factory amp is?
The stock amp should be right under the passenger seat. Currently Ive upgrade all my speaker and tapped into the wiring that runs to the stock amp to get my RCA outputs for my new amp. You will need a copy of the wiring shematic to know what wires to tap into. SO basically im running my stock system with after market speakers and Amp.
If the stock amp has RCA connections and the same power supply possibly. But it also depends on what amp you are planning on running. If you are significantly upgrading the power of it then the power wires may not be thick enough.
Also that amp probably runs your speakers and your sub so it might be a 6 ch. or something. Hard to say without more info on what you are putting in etc.
Your best bet is probably to leave the stock amp alone take out the JBL 8" sub and use a line-out converter if you want to just add those subs and leave everything else alone.
I added and amp and two 12's in mine and used a LOC for now...but I have the non-JBL 6 disc system.
Good luck!

Your best bet IMO is to ditch the stock system all together and start wiring up a new system independent of the factory power and speaker wires as they are tied into all kinds of stuff and the wires are all undersized.
I like to run all the wires just for the audio and have the system by itself, much more efficeint and easy to work with.
