Just got back from the JL Audio design center. They took measurements of the truck and brought out a few speakers to see about fit. They determined that the best fit would be the new Shallow depth speakers their about to release. They had a few blank cages of the speakers and they look like they will fit pretty well. They where thinking either two 10's or 12's but they will decide in the fab process. They will be calling me again in three weeks to begin the internal fab on the truck. They mentioned that the shallow speakers would most likely be ready by January due to the fact that their show car has them installed and will be at CES in January. I'll keep you all informed going forward.

The shallow subs only come in 12's and 13's. Sounds like a cool stealth box will be coming.

i have seen someone with two 12" kicker L7. behind the seat! not under.

They will be behind the seat. They are also considering building a box for inside the center console.

Received a call today from JL. They are receiving two 13" shallow depth speakers next week some time. PreFabrication will begin on my truck for the new stealth box within the next two weeks. I'll keep you all posted.

wow 13" shallows i hope they sound at least like a w6... hope the don't cost a arm and leg like w7's

i hope the build something for the center console. I have a DC, but don't need that console at all wish they could put a 12w7 in it.

they took some measurements last time I was there and seemed very interested in building one for the center console as well. I'll see what they have to say on my next visit.

W7's for the price really cant be beat. $400ish is cheap for a woofer that performs as good as it does.

I've heard from JL that the new TW5 series will have the SQ of a W6 with the output somewhere in between a W1 and W3.

Do you currently have the JBL sound system?

Just curious if they are building an enclosure around the existing sub...

No, currently I have an Infinity Basslink T

in the place where they are going to fab from. The Stealth box will be designed for behind the rear seat for a truck without the JBL sub.
