I can't wait to see how this box turns out. I currently have a custom box with two 10W1v2-8's. The box sounds great but I want more. In my opinion, a JL box with the new shallow mount 13's should be unbelievable. $1000 would be an incredible deal...my guess is more in the 1200-1500 range once it reaches market.

I think you'll be surprised at the actual price. From what I can tell is all JL stealth boxes hover between the 500 and 800 dollar mark. I'm sure it will be at the high end but I'm guessing under a thousand.

Currently they are estimating 1200. But that's just an estimate and a Retail price.

I was basing my pricing on what I've seen around the net for the 13TW5-5. A stealth box with two of these installed would be $1100 in subs alone...not including price for box. IF they're able to keep the price at $1200 for subs and box, that would be a great deal.

I am waiting on my JL 13" shallow mount from Crutchfield which i ordered 3 wks ago... could be a while... till they get them in. Its not like JL to put 2 subs in a stealthbox (except for the avalanche/tacoma-dc)... especially if they are comparing the 13tw5 to the 12w3's... i would love to see a picture of the stealthbox... but if it fits why not!!!
Do you have the stock -jbl sub already? I have the jbl sub and it is behind the big plastic cover... I guess it will have to be cut to fit the new stealthbox???
Thanks for the thread!!!

No JBL sub for me. Currently I have the Infinity Bass Link T behind the back seat. It fits damn near perfect and sounds good but not great. When JL offered me a free setup to use my truck I was not going to pass on that.

I'm guessing that will be decided once the tuning is complete. If I had to guess since the Speakers run ideally at 250 watts each the 500/1 would be a nice amp for the box.

I am going with the JL 500/1 for the new stealthbox. I actually called JL and they told me thats what I should use. They are everywhere right now for a song. I picked one up on craigslist for 180 still in the box. A stereo shop in orlando closed and was blowing out inventory. What a find. I actually grabbed a new four channel for the wife's car as well.

That's an excellent deal! On a side note the speakers need .8 cubic feet each the measured volume of the prototype box is 1.6 (almost 1.7 I round down) cubic feet giving them little to no extra space. They may poly fill for tuning but it will hold 2 13" nicely.

What's the latest? Have you heard anything back from JL Audio? I'm anxious to see the finished product. Also interested in reading a review on this new sub. Thanks!

Got a call from them on Friday of last week. Their still backed up so it looks like another couple weeks before they need my truck again. Glad I already have a system to listen to.

I'll keep you all posted.

Hey, I got some questions for you. In reading this thread it sounds like jl is going to build a box with 2 10" subs. Do you have any idea if they will also produce and enclosure with a single 10? I think that a single 10 should suit my needs fairly well and require less amplification. Ideally, I'd like to run a small 5 channel amp such as the Alpine PDX-5.

You also said that the infinity basslink fits pretty well. Which model basslink do you have? Would you happen to have any pics of it?

TIA

The stealth box their building for the Crew Max will have 2 shallow mount 13" They make a Stealth box for the Double cab with one 10" but it's not designed for the Crew Max.

Currently I use the Infinity BassLink T. There is only one model and it looks like this.

It contains 1 10" and two passive radiators with a built in 200 watt amp.

"THE HARD DATA:
Contains one 8W7-3 subwoofer in a ported enclosure. 500 watt power handling. Wired for 3 ohm mono. Installs under driver side rear seat and requires no permanent modifications to the vehicle."

It would be nice if they made it with something larger than an 8". I've never heard the W7s... maybe the 8"s sound good.
