This is a discussion thread titled "JL Audio CrewMax Stealth Box Update", within the Audio & Stereo forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
My error. I just assumed it would be a ten. Since I don't have a double cab I never really looked at the specs.

If your referring to the stealth box then no it's designed for the Double Cab. JL is build a stealth box for the CrewMax that will go behind the seat.

i really appreciate the constant updates on the stealthbox... i am a new crewmax owner and am ready to start equiping it with tunes. im so ready to get some of the sound i had 15yrs ago... i have already decided to start with my components and hu for now... i will be going with the new kenwood dnx 812 for my head unit and dynaudio for my front stage and rear door speakers... im anxious for a bit of boom, but think i will try and be patient for JL's answer (as i prefer to keep all/most of my rear leg-room!)... thanks again...

Dropped Truck off this morning and got a look at the box. It was very sweet looking. If this is the prototype I can't imagine many changes. The box does have 2 13" shallow mounts and will require no loss of rear seat room. When I pick up the truck this afternoon I'm going to see if I can take some pictures ( fingers crossed ) They where going to do some Sound tuning and fit adjustments today. I'll keep you all posted.
In an effort to speed up this process I've agreed to leave my truck with them over night. They had an issue with one of the speakers in the prototype and where replacing it at 4:30 when I called. We agreed the process would go better if I left it with them rather than schedule another day for them to retest. More info as I get it.

I hate to be CM basher but that was one of the things that I first looked at when I opened the back door of the CM. I right away saw there wasn't gonna be much room for my system of choice plus I needed more bed space.I have the 1sq ft of volume required for each 12" shallow and the hard hitting is there when I feel like blowin my brains out. Oh and the seats don't smother em when they are down also. Hahaha!

I wonder if JL is having production issues with the 13TW5? I've been closely watching this thread and have also been shopping the sub on line for a while now. Crutcfield carried the sub and it immediately went on backorder. I checked back today and the sub is now listed as discontinued. I'm ready to see this sub on the market readily available!
Either way, I'm very excited to see your new enclosure and to get your opinion on the performance. Thanks again,
I'll be picking up the truck this afternoon. I won't have the box to let you know what it sounds like since they're still in the R/D phase but I will convey what They tell me. I will also ask permission to take pictures but that may be a touchy subject.
I'll ask about the production issues if any.

I wouldn't say your a basher. I would say the CM just didn't fit your requirements. Most of us who buy the CM buy it for the cab space not the Bed space. And there is plenty of room behind the rear seat for speakers as well I'm 6'3" and have my front seat all the way back and I can sit in the back seat and my Knees don't touch the front seat.

Let us know honestly how hard those slim JL's can hit as I am an avid W7 user but will have to step it down to make something fit in my DC. Glad to see someone can get a hold of these subs and is doing an install so I can get and idea of whether its worth it or not.

Picked up the truck and got some more info. Turns out the Prototype they build was the entire length of the back panel from the Jack Hump to the door. After their initial testing they have determined it doesn't need to be this big. They have calculated the each driver only needs .65 Cubic Feet of space due to the size of the CM cabin. The good news is the new design will leave room on the back panel for an AMP. They are going to recommend the 500/1 for this box. They think they will have the newly designed and close to final box in about 2 to 3 weeks. I was not allowed to take pictures especially since the final box will look nothing like this box. They said when it was playing in the truck just about every panel in the truck was vibrating and the overhead console was rattling bad enough they had to open all the compartments to get it to stop. I'll have to do some dampening work to the truck.
That's all for now I'll keep you posted.
