Default Amp power lead through firewall?

06 DC getting ready to install amp... what/where do you all run the lead? there is a grommet with a lot of wires next to the steering column but I would hate to screw a wire up pulling something through it....

The 07 Tundra has the same thing. I just took an awl and push it through the rubber grommet being careful not to poke the wiring harness. Get a coat hanger and tape the end to the wire and send it through the hole you just made with the awl. Good luck

On mine there was a grommet right next to the driver side kick panel. On the engine compartment side, it had a separate nipple shaped section that was empty. I just snipped off the end of that and fed the power cable through there. It's a perfect fit for a heavy gauge power cable. No other wires to interfere with and the grommet fits tight around the cable forming a perfect seal.

that grommet on the firewall under the steering column has a nipple on the underside below the factory harness- just pull or cut the nipple off and you will have a ready made access hole- roadpig

I did the same. Pulled the nipple with some pliers and snipped the end off. Pulled 2 #8 wires thru with some dish soap as lube.

Did you find it? Its really not hard to get to at all. Just take off that little kick pannel, and its just right up there. Then you can run the wire right under the carpet and it will never be seen.
