Audio & StereoTechnical discussions about factory or aftermarket audio and video systems.
This is a discussion thread titled "My System Install is COMPLETE! 56K Beware", within the Audio & Stereo forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Yeah the smell really never goes away especially in hot climates like we have here in Georgia. Just mask it with something like fabreeze or the stuff mentioned.
where is your shop at? Presently I live in Kennesaw ga till I move to Austin. I need to get some work done on my Truck and need some advice usually area 41 does my work.
Congrats ThirdHorseman! And yes, the smell does go away. I gutted mine too.
Good choice of components too. I went with the Focal K2 line also. 165KBE & 100KP to make a 3-way setup. Even though we had to do some cutting in the dash, the Focal sound is worth it. They are powered by a 1000 watt, 4 channel Zapco amp, with the built in EQ. But I noticed the they sound a bit bright, so my buddy hooked up a spectrum analyzer, and dimmed down the highs, and boosted the mids.
They only sound as good as the power you give them, and you did a great job on the amps too. Enjoy!

Hah! I'm in Austin (Round Rock) and there is a chance that I may move to Marietta.
[quote=ThirdHorseman;882820]My system is DONE!!!
Nice clean install
[quote=ThirdHorseman;882820]THE FINISHED PRODUCT. The appearance is exactly as I wanted it...99% factory-looking.
The work of an artist, adding aftermarket equipment while still maintaining the flow/appearance of an OEM vehicle

Excellent job! It seems that I've missed another fun weekend of modding and friends due WORK!!
Looks like you guys worked your arses off on this one.
Nick is an excellent friend! The box looks sweet...maybe the sound bug will hit me one day and I'll rip out my interior.
BTW....can you hear your phone ringing over all that music?
That is so funny. I called also and got no answer. I thought the same. Third I just can not imagine you losing anything.
GT has bought a new phone Ill send him a pm so he can get with you and help you out with your new phone choice.
For the record: The new Edead deadening that was used in this install is buytl rubber and is not the source of the smell that Third was being bothered with. It's the curing fiberglass inside the sub enclosure. Should be gone soon huh tech?
