Default Crewmax Stereo install - partially done!

This weekend I built a box for 2 - 12 inch Orion HP woofers. The box is 4.0 ft3 total tuned at 33 hz. I will install the woofers tomorrow evening as I ran out of time. It also rained off and on and I was outside since my truck wont fit into my friends garage!

I conected a line out converter on the output side of the JBL amp. It was a pain figuring out which wires ran what even with the wiring schematic I had printed at Toyota! I ended up going old school and I used a battery to find out which wires ran which set of component speakers! Simply hook up the battery to the wires and which ever speakers pops then you know which wires belong to it! Then I was able to connect the 4 outputs of the line out converter.

I am running a Directed D2400 mono amp (1200 Watts rms @ 1 ohm) for the subs and a 800 watt Orion 4 channel amp to the separates. Directed owns Orion, DEI, PPI, Viper, Python and quite a few other lins.

Here are a few photos of the partially finished install. Any questions, let me know!

It is pretty big but is what the woofers required so I made it happen. I am 6'2" tall and with my seat all the way back I can sit behind me comfortably. And I have someone behind me 5 days out of the year anyways! lol

I will be posting more photos this weekend. I have completed the woofers but need to take all the doors off so I can wire for the new components.

The receiver is the only thing I am not changing out! I love the way the dash looks stock. Plus, thieves look at your dash to see if you have an aftermarket deck. If it looks stock, they usually move on.

I have already purchased stainless nerf bars and will be installing them this weekend. That will help people get in. But my wife and I think its no problem. We are both fit and just grab the handle and pull ourselves up!

My truck is sweet and I am happy with it...very happy. Thanks for the compliment

I changed out the stock JBL head unit. I installed a Clarion DVD player with bluetooth and ipod etc etc. It came out great and the clarity of sound and picture is off the hook!

I too wanted to maintain the factory look when installing my system. I definitely didn't want an after market head unit drawing the attention of potential thieves. For this reason, I went with the JL Clean Sweep. I have JL components in all four doors, 2 10's in a sealed box, and a multi - channel JL amp running it all. The system sounds absolutely incredible AND, you would never know it was there judging from the stock head unit alone.
