Default Volume in Sirius Radio not loud enough

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue with an aftermarket Sirius Radio. I bought a Sportster from Best Buy and had their techs install the radio into my '07 Crewmax. If I am driving down the highway or have my windows down, I usually have to turn the volume all the way up to 45 or 50 on the dial, but when I turn the sat radio off, that same volume level would blow out my eardrums. Does anyone know why the volume seems muted with the sat radio compared to the normal stereo. I've turned the volume meter on the sat radio all the way up, but it hasn't helped. I'm in law enforcement, and my "company" car I've also installed a sirius radio, but did so myself. In the crown vic, there is no difference between the sat or the normal radio volume levels. I am wondering if the schlameels at Best Buy did something wrong. Any feedback would be appreciated.

2007 Silver Crewmax 4x4. Flowmaster 40s, Aries step bars, Weathertech floor mats and wind deflectors, Undercover tonneau cover, 3m clear bra, and a leather Pittsburgh Steeler steering wheel cover.

jsftex,

How did the BB techs route the sound to your radio?? Do you have to punch the AUX button to listen or are they using the FM transmitter or some other means????

I installed the bottom of the line Sirius InV in mine and run it into the AUX jack. I have the volume on the InV cranked all the way up and the sound is great! A pretty loud level on my non-JBL 6 disc changer occurs at around 32-33. Also, you should find that the volume is independent between the AUX/CD buttons and the terrestrial radio buttons - that is the volume will be what you had it at the last you visited that button.

Let us know more details to help Dx the problem.

I had my sportster 4 setup to use the fm transmitter originally and I noticed the same thing, it was very quiet. when I shut the fm transmitter off (make sure you do this, it does make a difference) and ran it straight to the auxiliary, it worked much better and was louder.
