Audio & StereoTechnical discussions about factory or aftermarket audio and video systems.
This is a discussion thread titled "8 inch woofers under rear seat", within the Audio & Stereo forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a 2006 tundra dc and I wanted some thump in the back. So I decided I wanted to put two 8 inch woofers under the rear seat in the storage compartment. Does anyone know if I install the pioneer shallow subs 8" will the fit without any problems? Or are there any other subs that fit better?
what kind of thump do you want? 8" is really, to tiny.
read some of the past post in audio.
some member's did a great job.
we double cab owner's are VERY LIMITED.
i have 1600+ REAL rms. but not many are willing to go to the extreme.
alot of research , time and flow.
but you will get some awesome idea's.
look before you leep!

most 8"s with the necessary mounting depth will be close to perfect with airspace. Currently have 4 8" assassins which i had to hammer the compartment a bit and they are little bit low on the airspace side but are insanely loud and precise, as for gorrila saying 8" is too tiny? go look at the new 8" subs a Soundsplinter, W7, or assassins are all incredible SPL and SQ wise
with all do respect. i have heard many 8" sub's. even the w7-3 in a 8".
i have a 10w7-3 and it's good, much better than the 8" w7.
but i needed 3 to satisfy my taste for:
heart thumping/pounding bass.
mine just isn't loud. it's a crystal clear.
jl audio's w7's are perfection.
anything less than a w6 forget it,there are way better sub's out there for the money.
but the 8" might not give you what you want.
whatever you go with make sure your amp's work with the sub's,
underpowered or overpowered.
what people won't tell you, is you will get used to the sub 's bass and want more...
and better to have more than enough the 1st time you do it,
than look to change down the road.
do your homework.
