The Scosche kit I tried to have installed had the same issue you describe, I ended up going with the kit supplied by Crutchfield, which I believe is the Metra kit. The kit from Crutchfield fit very nicely, but it has a matte finish which is a closer match to the dash, not the piano black trim, personally I think I prefer it after having it in the truck for awhile, certainly doesn't show every finger print and dust particle the way the piano black pieces do.

As far as static you could try to re-ground you alpine radio directly to the chasis. The factory grounds are not that great sometimes.

I just put in a Pioneer AVIC-D3 with the Scosche kit and had the same problem as everybody else (top right corner sitting high). After quite a bit of playing, I found the problem is that the the "pin" on the upper right of the face plate is a little too wide. I used wire snips to make it narrower and it fits fine now. I cut it down so that it is straight on the sides instead of flared- it looks like the "pin" has too much flare on the base end.

well i just ordered the metra high gloss dash kit. i'll give you guys an update when i install it and see how it fits. the scosche kit that i have also have some flaw in the high gloss painting. there are several dirt spec that you can see in the sunlight. looks like scosche need better quality control. the price of metra kit is about twice as much as the scosche kit so i hope its a better product.

I have the scosche kit (piano black) and it fits great. But I would like to see how your metra kit installs. Keep us posted!

I have the same problem with my scosche high gloss kit. I think I'm going to shave that right pin.

I am in the problem fit club. I called Scosche about it and they said they would look into it and follow up with me in a few days...that was weeks ago. I am not impressed with their customer service and unfortunately the 1/8" gap all across the top is making me very unhappy with their products.....
Definately let me know how your Metra stacks up.

I am wondering why mine doesn't have that problem... Wonder if they changed up their design... Just got mine a week ago.

One would hope this is the case after some called in complaints. I have used scosche products in the past without any problems, but I like Metra better. Do they have a piano black out yet?

I just had my w-205 installed with the scosche kit last week. The kit is flush with the dash and looks pretty good. However, the unit itself sticks out about 1/8th inch. Is this the problem people are having?

Scosche fit very well for me perfectly flush. If you have the headunit in at too much of an angle it will hit the metal brackets in the dash and not fully seat. That could be the prob you guys are having?
