Default Car Stereo Noob

So I plan on upgrading all my speakers pretty soon due to the fact that the non-jbl system is, well, lacking. I have some buzzes and rattles coming from them, and its just time to do it.

Well, as of yesterday, my dad had the head unit removed from his NSX and put in a different stereo. I guess the previous owner had it installed wrong and yea, so, here I am with his head unit, and I really dont know anything about it. Its a Pioneer 'Super Tuner III D' (what it says on the front) and on the back it says its an AVIC-N2 (CPN1955). Anyone know anything about this unit? Is it any good? I know it was wired up to a camera and its got what I believe to be a 6.5" screen that slides out and folds up.

Bottom line, since this pretty much fell into my lap, is it worth installing?

Here is a picture for reference.

yes it's worth installing. It's a nice unit. Go to avic411.com to read up on it and get ideas for mods and hacks.

You can install it. You might not like the fold up screen so high on the dash, but it should work fine and you can't argue with free. You will need the Pioneer wiring harness for it and it is easier to install with a Toyota wiring. It can also connect to a factory handle camera if you want. You should be able to follow the writeup I did for my stereo as long as you can solder and use heat shrink. Crimp connectors are OK if you don't want to solder.
I've got the harnesses and what not, so that shouldnt be a problem. And I have to admit, Im a little stoked it can connect to the factory cam! I can solder and heat shrink. Awesome! As far as dash kits go, since its a single din, I really have no idea where to look or what to get..

Thanks for the replies. Guess I just got myself a head unit!
