Default Sirius Satellite Radio

Hi, new member here. I am the new owner of a new (used) 2007 Toyota Tundra 4x4 with 5,000 miles on it. I have had it about a week and I traded a 2001 Mustang GT in for it.

I have a couple of questions. I had the after market Sirius in my Mustang and it was the one that you wired to the radio antennae and the mount was suction cupped to the windshield. I can mount this in my Tundra but first I want to know something. My Tundra radio has a "SAT/DISC" button on it. Does this mean my stock radio is setup to have satellite radio in it? If so can I get it setup on my current Sirius account?

Thanks.

You would need to buy the the receiver and fit kit to integrate with the Stock HU once you have these components then yes you could add it to your existing account.

Receiver: Sparks Toyota

Fit Kit: Sparks Toyota

Has anyone installed the factory Sirius tuner and fit kit? If so, how difficult is it? I'm worried about messing up the instrument panels.

I did the XM equivalent about a month ago. Below is a link to the radio removal instructions from the ebay seller I bought my kit from. You do remove a few console and dash sections, most of which are held in place by clips. I started at the bottom where the center console meets A/C controls and worked my way up. Pulling the radio out was just a few screws worth of work.

The bigger PITA was routing the antenna wire since I wanted mine on the roof rather than on the dash. I actually tried the dash for a couple weeks but the roof mount made a huge improvement. There's a good source on this forum for routing the antenna wire.

Good Luck!
Greg

I did the XM-equivalent a couple weeks ago. I've copied the link below FYI, but it's not too hard. You start at the bottom of the console and work up the center of the dash towards the radio. The radio itself is a few screws which most of the dash is clips. I did have to loosen the right side of the main drivers dash to get the A/C blower knob out from under the dash, but again that was just a couple clips.

The real PITA is the antenna wire routing, I tried the top of the dash but moved it to the roof thru the third brake light after a couple weeks of spotty reception. For me the roof mount made a huge difference. There's a good post in this forum on how to for that.

Good luck!
Greg
