Has anyone replaced the head unit and speakers themselves?? Pain in the axx???
Is there enough clearance in doors for the magnets on new speakers? Thanks! PS, Had the Tundra for 2 weeks now, and love it.

Just did a full audio system in my 08 DC. Panels are easy, steady firm pressure is the way to do it. Buy the speaker adapters on ebay. I went with infinity all the way around, 6x9s in the front, 6.5s in the rear. Had to space the window track back which is as easy as getting 2 new M6 bolts from the hardware store (1 for each front door) and about 6 washers to space it back on each side. I originally made adapters out of existing speakers, but decided its best to use the ebay adapters. Many go with 6.5s up front, but you get much better bass response out of the 6x9s. I installed a 90x4 amp for mids / highs and an 800x1 for 2 10in subs.

Just did mine. Used the AVIC Z2 headunit with Polk DB6501 front and DB5250 rear. Difficulty wise, it was average for a stereo install (for me, my friend's 1998 Honda Civic was the easiest and my friend's 2002 VW Passat was the hardest). It sounds fantastic and everything fit perfectly. Of course, I can't take credit for that as I used Crutchfield.com website to check fitment ahead of time. For pics, click on my profile and look at my albums.

I too have the Polk db6501's in the front and db651's in the back. Both fit with no issue. Door panel and head unit removal are a snap. By far the hardest part is running your amp wiring and hooking all the wires into your HU. If you have any specific questions, many of us will be glad to help. Good luck with it!
