Default 2003 Radio Question

I am trying to put a new headunit in for my '03 Tundra and have found out that there are new headunits in the '03 models. I tried to purchase a new radio from Crutchfield, but they do not have the install kits for the 2003 model. I was wondering if anyone knew of any differences between the '00-'02 and the '03 besides the new headunit, ie. a different wire harness. Will the '02 installation kit from Crutchfield work in my car? TIA!

Thumbs down

No it won't work. There is a difference. I bought a 6 disc in dash changer from someone who had an 02 model and it did not fit in my 03 dash. The cut out around the perimeter of the radio is larger on the 03's. It is like the 02 head unit needed a flace plate to go around the outside of it. The wiring harnesses were all standard and the same but the face sizes of the units are different.

Be ware!!!!

I got screwed because here I am paying for this used head unit and then lost money cause I had to sell it again to get rid of it. Lost about 25 buckeroos on the deal. Sucked!!!!

Thanks Lexus Luthor I was ready to send out payment to Crutchfield and would have made a big mistake. Now to find if anyone has an install kit for the '03. Anyone know of any out there?

www.americaninternational.net has a nice single DIN kit for the 2003 Tundra. I just ordered one myself (800-336-6500)
