Audio & StereoTechnical discussions about factory or aftermarket audio and video systems.
This is a discussion thread titled "Sirius Sportster 5 Install", within the Audio & Stereo forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Hi,
Thought I would post my Sirius Sportster 5 install in my Tundra. I have the mini-dot antenna mounted on my dash, just in front of the center speaker. The antenna wire comes down just to the left of my radio. You can see my Sirius in the photo. Sorry about the dust! I drilled a 3/4" hole in the console cover and put all the wires in that cavity below the cover. I used the mount that came with the Sirius and attached the suction end to a plastic disk, which has a 3m double sided tape and attached the mount as you can see in the photo. The suction disk came from Mount Guys (see below) and works great for me. I can see the Sirius OK and the antenna dash installation has been just fine.
Any questions?
Thanks for looking.

For the antenna - it will work underneath the center speaker grille if you want to get it out of site, and then you can run the wire down the dashboard and out of one of the blanks near your Aux plug. .....
For anyone else looking to put it on top of the dashboard instead of under the grille..... I used a small square of non-slip mesh drawer liner (used in kitchen drawers and tool chests) under the sirius antenna in my wifes Honda civic and it has never slipped once... she has a Civic SI and when I drive it to its potential the antenna stays put.... no need for 3m sticky stuff on the dashboard....
