Thanks everyone. Yeah I was scratching my head about the crossover location, pretty happy with where it ended up. Now where else can I spend more money...
I am using the same rear camera, where did you bring the wires to the outside of the truck?
I just started in the back and ziptied my wires to the bundle that runs from the hitch light receiver. I hope this helps! I'll try to get some pics snapped of the underside of the truck if that would help.

I was wondering where you actually entered the the cab with the wires? Thanks.

Sorry...just saw your post. There is a bundle of wires that runs from the hitch...under the passenger side frame...into the passenger side wheel well...and into the engine bay. I just zip tied my RCA to that bundle and then came into the cab through the boot in the firewall on the passenger side. I hope this helps!
Wow...I love the way it looks...I am debating the factory camera ($300ish) vs the Boyo which looks to be between $115-$160 on ebay. You mention the boyo looks good in most conditions. What conditions does the boyo have a hard time with? How is it at night? Which Boyo model do you have? It will be VTLXXX or something like that...I am looking at the VTL350 which yours looks like... Also have you tried angling the camera down a bit? Will it give you a good view of the hitch? Ie: could you use it to help you align it with a trailer?

I believe the camera is either a VTL300 or 350, I'm not sure but I think it's the 300. I got it online for a little less than $200 shipped to my door. I LOVE it, it's amazing how fast it adjusts to light. It's great at night, a lot better than I expected to be. As soon as it cuts on, in less than a second it will auto-adjust to the low light and with your reverse/brake lights, backing up is a snap. The only condition that it somewhat struggles with is if the sun is directly in the picture, but I'm sure that's with any camera. It's funny you should mention angling it down; I actually did that this weekend. Took about 30 seconds and a 1/16" allen wrench, fixed the direct sun problem too
Yeah Im using the VLT 300 and love the way it looks and works. Angled mine so it just sees the outside edge of the bumper, which helps give you prespective of where you are.
Was gonna buy a mini-cam and mount it somewhere in the rear but really there are not any good locations that would work well and look right, that is why I chose the Boyo also the adjustability is awesome to have.

I completely agree, I love this thing. The black is pretty discrete, I'm glad I chose it over chrome. I'm glad I angled it down, it's great to be able to see everything in relation to your bumper, whether it be a trailer hitch or another car
