Opinions please. I've investigated the pros and cons of both. Crutchfield makes a cool kit for $150 which should convert my factory stereo so I can use my I pod. This seems like the easiest root. The other options is to pony up and by a nice aftermarket radio with a I Pod hookup already in it. I did some pricing and I can get a pretty good stereo for $200 - $300. I'm leaning toward keeping my factory stereo and using the kit. Thanks in advance.

I've got the Pioneer DEH-P5900IB with the ipod interface and Sirius interface. I wouldn't have it any other way. No satelite reciever mounted in the way, no rf static or searcing for a clear channel to broadcast on. I think if you get the aftermarket set up you'll be way happy. Make sure you get the one that uses the ipod interface cable and not the one that requires an adapter setup, same with the satelite if you use one. mine simply has a cable that plugs in the back of the head unit for the ipod, not only do you select everything through the display on the HU, it also charges the ipod, so mine is never dead. Circuit City has the Pioneer units on sale right now with a free ipod cable that normally cost $35.00.

Well, in the end I ponied up and bought the DEH 7000 by Pioneer. Best Buy has a special where the installs are free. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I just have to learn the controls and fine tune it. Thanks for the input fellas.

Do you have steering wheel controls, if so did you lose functionality?

I don't have steering wheel controls. But I bet it would, it's got all of the others bells and whistles.
