Audio & StereoTechnical discussions about factory or aftermarket audio and video systems.
This is a discussion thread titled "opinions on setup please", within the Audio & Stereo forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Up until this past year I would be a advocate for Sound Stream products however over the last year I've had two SS amps go defective after 3 months of use and one set of speakers go bad. They are no longer the company they used to be.
Why not get an ED Sub for that ED amp.
I would recommend any other product other than Sound Stream.
I'll second what the previous poster said. Soundstream ain't what it used to be. I had a Tarantula amp/sub setup in my Lexus for awhile. The amp power was overrated and the subs were just ok. I replaced it with a similar JL setup and it sounded way better, albeit more $$.
ED just does not have the customer service for me to buy their products anymore. this nine.2x amp is actually what i posted(1chx750wrms bridged and 4ohm). its the newest model they don't have the specs for it on the website yet and from what i've seen its more around 800. its a big step up from the older model. i've had ED subs already and JL's too. i just want to try something different. i have two ED tens hooked up to it right now actually. but each of those are 250rms a piece and i want something in the 800 range so i can see what this amp is really made of.
i liked those RE's but i'm doing a sealed box and it says not recommended for some reason. the Fi ssd 12 looks like a good choice though thanks for the link
yes i'm using 3/4 MDF so i subtracted that from the numbers. since its 3/4 on each side i subtracted 1.5 from each number then did my calculations. i'm not 100% sure i am right but hopefully i am

You were close. If those measurements are the exterior dimensions of a 3/4 MDF box, the internal volume will be 1.404 cubic feet. You cannot simply subtract 1.5 inches from each dimension; case in the point the 5.5" and 11" dimensions will be the same length on the interior but shifted inward.
Aside from that, the companies I would consider have been mentioned already. Now build it and make it thump...
