Default Where's the amp?

I have a 2005 DC - JBL Single CD/Cassette I use USASPEC to connect my sirius sportser - and that works great.

The CD player won't play cd's anymore - just :load load load load: then kicks the CD out. I have tried a hard reset (disc battery) with no luck.

I am gonna buy the Pioneer 2 Din 8000 - and the install guy was asking if I had an amp. I have check under the seats, behind the back seats etc- I don't see an amp anywhere?

The HU is JBL 16848 - is there an AMP? I can't find a wiring diagram or anything of the sort (the price is a lot different if the need to bypass a factory amp.

Thanks, cool site.

The amp is located deep in there if you remove the center cluster dash. To remove the center cluster there are one screw in each of the center vents and three if you remove the climate control knobs.I'm not sure how the jbl amp looks like, but the stock amp on mines has ribs like a heatsink along the side to help cool the amp.

The amp is mounted behind the cover on the rear wall of the double cab model. it is on the drivers side mounted next to the map pockets. you will have to remove the rear cover to access it.

Exactly what kavawa said, behing the rear seat panel. I am not sure of the pioneer models but for my eclipse there is a plug and play harness the runs from the HU to the amp, so no splicing is required. I think it was like $45. Or you can have them rewire all the speakers (will cost some money). I am sure there is a harness for the pioneers as well.
