Default Need help with sound system

Hello,
I own an '07 D-Cab with Regular Sound System (sadly without controls on steering wheel). Recently I got in touch with a Taco owner @ Toyota World Forums and he told me he wanted to sell his JBL Head Unit and his JBL Subwoofer + JBL Ampt + Mount (plastic). Anyways, I've always wanted to upgrade my regular sound system to JBL but I don't know if it's more expensive + harder to go JBL upgrade or aftermarket sound system. If anyone has done this (or seen this upgrade on a forum), please reply. I would like some info on how to make the installation, if I need new cables all around or the main harness is the same for the JBL unit, how to connect it to the amp... etc. Thanks
Here are some pics he sent me telling "this is all i'm selling":

Granted I own a Tundra, but if the Taco JBL system is anything like the Tundra's, I'd say definitely go the aftermarket route. Depending on how much he's charging you, chances are you can get a better set up for just a little bit more money.

I second that. The JBL isnt anything to write home about. You'll get alot more for your money going aftermarket.
