Default DVC sub wiring question-ohm loads

Ok, I have a Kenwood mono amp, that splits to 2 channels on theoutside. This amp puts out 1000 RMS @ 1 ohm, and 800 RMS @ 2ohm, etc. I have 2 12" diamond audio m6mkII's that are 2 ohm DVC subs, handling up to 800 rms. Currently i have them wired to be a 2ohm load on the amp , is there any way to wire them to be a 1 ohm load so i would be getting the full 1000 watts. I did some researching and found that i can wire 1 2ohm dvc sub to a 1ohm load by taking the positive from one coil and the negative from the other and then going from the neg to neg and pos to pos, so would i be able to wire each sub like this and then use the 2 channels on the outside? (even thought it just becomes 1 channel on the inside) Thanks for any help!

you can only wire those subwoofers to a 0.5 ohm load, a 2ohm load, and a 8 ohm load. you cannot wire them to show the amp a 1 ohm load.

Now you need to read the specs on that amp and see if it's stable at .5 ohm.

If the speakers can only handle 800 rms and that's what there getting you could burn the voice coils by pumping extra 200 or more if you do .5 ohm your watts would probably jump to about 1200 or 1300 so I would either get some subs that could handle the extra watts in the proper ohms are leave it as is.
