Default 2008 Tundra OEM Nav..Best way to add aftermarket amplifier??

I have a 2008 Tundra and just purchased the navigation package. I am wondering the best way or only way to connect an aftermarket amp so I can run subs and aftermarket mids/highs? I have been told some sort of a line-output converter will work, Audio Control LC6i. How do you wire one of these things so that i have a channel for subs, and 4 channels for mids/highs? Is there any other way? Will all of my navigation features still work? Any responses would help. Thanks, Mark.

It kind of depends on how many output channels there are on the stock NAV unit. If there are four low-level outputs (front and rear), you could run your low-level signal through a passive EQ with a sub output to give you more flexibiltiy. Or you could run your sub stage split off the front channels.

If the stock NAV unit only has a two channel low-level output, then things get more tricky. In that case, you have mostly two options.
1)Install a quality 4 channel LOC like the David Navone NE-774v downstream from the factory amp to get your front and rear low-level inputs. From there, as mentioned above, you could run an EQ to get more flexiblity with the sub stage and crossover points.
2)Use something like the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty or JL Cleansweep to corrrect (or EQ) the signal from the stock HU. These will give you the best and flatest signal from the HU and a lot of flexibilty, but they are also the most expensive option.

Any good stereo shop should be able to help you explore your options for upgrading the factory stereo with amps, speakers ect... I agree with the above post, those are all good products to check out. I would add to the list the Alpine PXE-h650. It's a little pricey, but it is far more than just an LOC. I installed one in my tundra down stream from the factory JBL head unit along with 2 Alpine amps, Sony 10" subs, Infinity component speakers ect.. The PXE-h650 provides 6 outputs, antEQ processing, Audessy sound correction, automatic time alignment, 2way crossover (12 or 24db) This thing does it all, in one little package.

LOL with your truck, hope this post can help you.

An Req 5 is all you need. Pm me and i can tell you where you can get one. This is all you need. I have used these in several hundred installs and you would hardpressed to hear the difference between this an aftermarket headunit. It also has an Aux in That you can use for Ipods and any source for that matter. Best audio product built in the last 5 years and thats no joke.
