what do I need to get my mp3 player to wire up to a stock JBL head unit instead of using a cassette.

If your stock unit has a connection in the back for a factory CD changer you can get a interface from PIE and connect it that way. Here is there site.

Yes. If you have one of those or if your HU is capable of attaching one of those than a PIE interface will work for you. Just go to the Website and do a search.
