Default New Problem with Ipod Adapter - PA12-TOY

My USA Spec PA12-TOY worked fine with my 2004 Sequoia for about a year. Now, when it lets me connect and play my ipod, it will randomly stop playing and not recognize my ipod. The screen on my ipod will however say that the ipod is charging (but it won't play music). The only temporary solution I have found is to turn everything off, disconnect the ipod, and let it rest for a while. After a while, when I try to reconnect the ipod, sometimes it will play fine for a while, but sometimes it is not recognized and I have to try again later. Either way, it continues to play the ipod inconsistently in my Sequoia. My ipod is the 5th generation 60 gb. The firmware is still 1.2.1 ... it has not changed since I got the PA12-TOY. Anyone have any similar problems or any suggestions? Thank you!

Not sure if your PA12-TOY interface box is easily accessible, but you may want to try disconnecting the cable from the head unit that goes into the interface. I've heard that these boxes sometimes need to be reset by disconnecting the power. I've been using mine since March 2005 without any issues. Your other option is to borrow a friend's iPod and see if you can duplicate the issue.

The box is easily accessible, so I'll try "resetting." Only time will tell if it works consistently after that. Thanks for the reply. When the deck isn't recognizing the ipod, I'm still a little confused why the ipod screen still says that it is charging. Makes me wonder where the problem is.
