Default Alpine CDA 9886

Just had this installed this morning finally. This headunit is awesome. The sound quality and loudness over the stock headunit has increased 10 fold as far as hearing pleasure goes. Now I've had tons of friends who have had full audio systems done and boy the stock tundra system with the tweeters isn't so bad afterall. The receiver is easy to use and configure due to a nice interface with simple to use controls. The biolight display is awesome might i add as it easily viewable from any angle. If anyone is looking for a great headunit and has been wondering about this one. Pull the trigger it is well worth it and this is the first headunit / audio upgrade i have done in my truck.

That's the deck I've been looking at for months to replace my Kenwood eXcelon... but, my eXcelon is still running strong and I don't need it. Well, that's never stopped me before

Glad to hear you like the deck. Did you install it yourself? How good is the equalizer on it? I've been wondering how many adjustments it allows you to make. For example:

- bass
- treble
- mid
- Frequencies of bass, mid, treble
- Low and high pass filters

Any pics?

Cheers,

Ryan

i got one of the first decks when they hit the stores, the 9886 is a great head unit. ive had kenwood, pioneer, and this is by far the best ive had. i used to work in car audio so this is more than a hobby for me.

very good h/u for the money, and exceptional sound quality with the built in 24bit D/A.

my 2cents

Hey I got one of those in my Tundra too!

The only gripe I had with it was that my iPod would keep playing even after I turned off the ignition. Well, after snooping around on apple and alpine forums, I found that there was a solution. Alpine sent me a patch cable that fixed the issue...

I love this HU. It was very simple to install, Alpine makes it so easy. All of their color coding matched up with the Toyota harness color coding. Blew me away when I saw that...

Here are a few of the features:
external subwoofer level adjust
treble, bass, balance, fade adjust
internal amplifier on/off (mine is off since I have external amps)
manual txt scrolling (stops the album/artist txt from scrolling on & on & on)
biolight brightness adjust
