Default Crewmax sub.

What do you guys think about this combo as far as fitment issues..

Box: SuperCrewSound - Quality Subwoofer Enclosures made in the USA - Toyota Tundra Crew Max 2007 - 2009 Dual Subwoofer Box

Sub.. SuperCrewSound - Quality Subwoofer Enclosures made in the USA - Image Dynamics ID10D2 v.3 10 inch Subwoofer

I will be bridging my 4 channel amp (channels 3 and 4) and it will push the 250w RMS. Thoughts?

Good subs. Will sound good in that box. Can't tell you about the fitment of the box though.

Those are excellent subs, might try shopping around for the price. The box is a good size for them as well, providing it is constructed in a good quality manner. I would be interested in the fitment and if you need to move the seat forward. My thought is that you will have to a couple of clicks. That may not be a big deal for you though. WHat brand of amp are you using? Might not hurt to have more power, depends on how you listen to your music of course.

Thanks for your input.

I will be pushing the sub with an alpine 4 channel amp. 550w. I will use channels 1 and 2 for the comps up front and bridge channels 3 and 4 for the sub.

So I talked to the guy at supercrewsound.com... I can get a 16L"x16H" sealed box for one 10" sub for 120 shipped...the top depth is 5.5" and bottom is 7.5"..so it look like i would have to move the seat up a couple clicks....thoughts? Is that a good price?

If you are looking to do a box for one ten, I would build a or buy a ported box. It would give you more output, and play lower than a single sealed 10. I would personally do that before a single sealed 10. I can design a box for you if you like. Also, your amp is better suited for one ten than 2, just more power available. IM me if you want me to look into a design..

I just read your other post to. Polk makes a series called the Mobile Monitor subs, mm1040 is the model of the 10. They are really shallow and handle good power. I am in the process of putting 4 of these in my Crewmax in a custom built box. You might look at those as well.

Thanks for your input man. I will def. look at the mm1040 sub. But why ported? I'm not looking for car rattling bass...i just want something that will hit hard and clean.

Im with you about nice hard hitting clean bass. I have 2 kicker L7's in my custom built box running off a Kicker amp and its nice and loud, but i want something a little bit louder. I like my bass, but i don't want it to sound like nothing but bass. I maybe selling my box and subs if you want them. Its a perfect fit with only having to slide the seat 3 clicks.

Thanks for your help but I don't think I really want 2 subs. 1 10" will suffice.

I spoke to someone at 12techvolts.com and they said they can build me a 20" x 20" box with 4" top depth and 6" bottom depth for $149 shipped. I think that would work really welll with the POLK mm1040. The guy didn't recommend porting the box b/c the sub specs didn't recommend that type of sub in a ported box. I can get that box and sub for ~250 shipped.

I went to a local car audio shop and talked to the guy about what I'm looking for. To sum up our conversation he told me that the ONLY option I really have is to get the JL Stealthbox, which they actually sell for $650. Now I don't know too much about car audio but I know that's not true. He told me that if they built a box for me and installed a sub I would be looking at ~$600. I mentioned to him I can get a custom box online for ~$140 shipped. He then proceeded to tell me well "the only sub that will sound good is the JL blah blah blah" (whichever comes in the stealth box). He told me that have made similar boxes and ANY sub they put in them (he rattled of like 10 diff. brands) would sound like garbage. At the beginning of the convo I was like damn maybe I should buy the stealth, then after talking to him for a bit longer I started thinking this guy is full of it and just wants to make a $650 sale. They also charge out the a$$ for install.

So that leaves me with two options for boxes.

1) 16" x 16" Top depth of 5.5" and Bottom depth of 7.5" (.65 air space) Supercrewsound.com

2) 20" x 20" Top depth of 4" and Bottom depth of 6" (not sure of air space) from tech12volts.com

The two subs I'm looking at are Subwoofer Enclosures|Subwoofer Boxes|Custom|Vehicle Specific - Image Dynamics ID10D2 v.3 10 inch Subwoofer and Polk Audio MM1040 10" Component Subwoofers Car Subwoofers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

What do you guys think as far as mounting depth for the subs and the two subs.

Also, the shop was going to be super expensive as far as install goes. I have installed an amp and speakers before. I just wanted it professionally done since this is a new truck, but I think I'm going to save ~$400 and do it myself. Do any of you know any useful links for install? As far as an amp (hooking it up to stock HU) and components go?

Thank you guys

yeah the stealth box is overpriced. The image subs rock I have been saling Image for

Yeah the stealth box is overpriced. The image sub is a far better sub. Way better. Sub is only as good as the enclosure. I would stick to 1 10 sealed and run with it.I just finished an enclosure for a Stereo Integrity Mag2 12. Probably never heard of them but do some research its a pure SQ sub alot like The IDQ stuff.

As as far as Supercrew sound. Ask Kyle@proforce how much he liked his Supercrew sound enclosure. He actually ended up using it for firewood and thats no lie.
