So I was told it couldn't be done, but I beg to differ
Here are some pics of what I've done so far, unfortunately I'm at a stand still until the temps here get back over 65 degrees. This Isn't my first time using fiberglass, but it's the first time I've done it correctly haha. Usually I'm in such a rush I screw things up royally, but it's coming out nice so far. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!
And don't tell me subs can't share airspace, because they can with no issues. Don't knock it til you try it. As long as they are both running mono the subs don't know the difference.
Here is what I did first, I removed the metal frame that supports the seat and holds the cargo area. I trimmed it a bit to get the width I needed. You can also kinda see what i had to do to get more airspace, I had to bang out the floor board toward the middle a bit. A small hammer did the trick pretty easy. i was afraid I was going to have to cut it and weld some sheet metal, but this was a lot easier. You can also see the spray on sound silencer material I used.

Re: Two 10" Sub Install In A 2001 Access Cab (pics)
Here is the first layer of fiberglass laid out. I just laid down a garbage bag in the area and put the fiberglass over it. Made for an easy removal. I did screw up slightly since I din't let the spray on sound absorbing stuff cure long enough, so when the resin was curing it got hot and turned the liner to liquid again. No biggie though.

here it is removed and with the rest of the layers added in. This thing is strong as hell, I can stand on it and jump and it doesn't even bend. It came out of the hole uber easy thanks to that garbage bag. I also filled it with water at this point to check the size of the airspace. It will be 0.78 cu ft with the subs in. Perfect for the two Pioneer shallow subs I have for it.

Re: Two 10" Sub Install In A 2001 Access Cab (pics)
And now the fun part. I trimmed it down to where I need it to be, and it's ready for the top! I cut out a mounting plate for the subs, and I'm JB welding it to the sides of the enclosure. A few clamps and by tomorrow it should be ok to start fiberglassing the top. Once I'm done with the top plate, I'm going to be adding some thick dowel rods to brace the inside- not because the subs are heavy, but because I'm afraid of putting to much stress on the fiberglass with someone sitting on the seat. With all that metal framing I removed, the fiberglass will pretty much be supporting all the weight on that seat.

And last for today, a picture of the remaining material for the enclosure. Hopefully Thursday the weather will be warm enough to get this done. All I need to do is lay down the black fabric and resin it, then add some glass mat to the inside edges and it should be done. Then I'll need to stretch the carpet over the top, drop in the subs and that's it!

Oh and I took the subs out of their boxes today for the first time. Go figure they are the exact same subs, but one is "Premier" and one is not. They look the same, have the same ratings, have the same parts, one just says Pioneer on the cone the other says Premier. Oh well not worth shipping one back and waiting for the other, no one will see them anyway. And they have the same model number... Weird.

It's looking good so far, similar to the setup I made for mine. One question though, are you planning on recessing the subs to allow for excursion? I had to lower the part of my box containing the sub nearly two inches to allow for the mounting of the sub, excursion and room for the sound to pass into he cab. Granted my sub is larger then yours but it looks like your seat will rest directly on top of the subs.

I have plans for that, you shall see in the coming days

So I was able to throw on the top layer of fabric, and I just did a test fit in the truck with the seat on. I'm thinking about not worrying about the seat, it barely touches the sub baskets and these shallow Pioneers have no excursion at all, so I think I'll be good. Otherwise I'm just going to modify the bottom of the seat.

WOW! Looks really good. I'd like to attempt something like this, but I'll see how yours comes out. I think I might do a single 10" so that I don't have to cut to much up. Keep up the good work and lets see more pics.
Re: Two 10" Sub Install In A 2001 Access Cab (pics)
Got it all done and hooked up today. Sounds great, but I'm thinking about switching to a different brand of shallow subs. the Pioneers hit good in the 60-70hz area, but anything lower just isn't loud enough. Maybe I'll try the Kicker shallows or the Rockfords next.
