Default Upgrade Fronts w/ W505 Headunit

Quick question for the stereo pro's and those that know more than me!

I was thinking about upgrading the front speakers and was wondering if it would be worth it if I am running them off the head unit. I currently have an Alpine W505 which runs 50W X 4 (Max Power). Is it worth it to upgrade running on headunit power?

What would a good match be for headunit power and speaker?

Thanks!

By all means a speaker upgrade is worthwhile. Look for a good coaxial with a higher sensitivity to get the most out of the HU power.

I defiantly think so I have the same head unit as you and upgraded my front and rear speakers and it was well worth it for sure. Now i just have to get my headunit replaced under warranty the screen on the left hand side is turning white. You have any problems with yours Koji?

What did you replace yours with canuck?

No issues with my 505. I have also had the 205 and the 505 is much more slick. The ony problems I have had have been with the Blackbird II unit - it's a POS IMHO but it's what I gotta work with so not much I can do. Do you have the Blackbird II?

Where in BC are you at?

The screen is on the left hand side has a vertical white line its not really noticable but just bugging me so I am going to see what the stereo shop is going to do about it. I love the 505 and will put another one in. No blackbird for me i have a nice hand held garmin. Replaced the front and rear speakers with Hertz Audio I never heard of them but the local stereo shop highly recomended them and they sound great. Iam in the Okananagan

Hertz is really good, you won't be unhappy with those speakers. Just like Morel and Focal, only noy as expensive. You will want to run at least 40-50 rms for thos speakers in order for them to sound half decent.
