I was on a couple of days ago and someone had posted in a thread a template for making a build out of mdf to fit 6x9s in the front of a crewmax, i've looked for the thread but can not find...help if you know the thread or have the link thanks in advance

I just installed 6.5" rounds in the doors. I used the pathetic excuse for a speaker as a template for the overall size, just traced it out onto some 3/4" mdf, cut it out then marked/drilled my mounting holes and cut the center out for the new speakers.

Seriously its been a long time since i installed speakers in a car, but was very shocked to see what junk toyota installed in my truck! They had about the same weight as my ipod headseat!

I prefer to use cheap plastic kitchen cutting boards for custom mounts. Trace the old speaker for the outside and the new one for the inside.
