Default sub enclosure questions

What is everyone running as far as sub enclosures go in the 07 and newer DC's? I want to fit everything under the back seat. I am going to go with a JL Audio sub and amp package just trying to figure out the best set up to go with as far as enclosures and sub size and quantity go. thanks for the input.

I built my own, its actually really easy to do if you have a table saw and a jig saw. Mine slides under the rear drivers side seat. I used 3/4" MDF and it holds 2 10" shallow mount subs. If youre building a sealed enclosure its fairly easy to calculate the required airspace of your sub.

I am planning on building my own box. I have done this in my previous trucks but with them keeping the back seat usable didn't matter to me. In my new truck it does. which will sound better a sealed down fire or one shown above

Sounds like my subs. My Rockfords are shallow too. You only really have at the most 5" of height under that back seat, but you can make up airspace by bringing out the length as well.

Love Jupiter, most beautiful inlet in FL. Snook still stacked up in there?

Jumbo Jet yea the snook action is pretty good right now, ill probably go try to catch some this weekend if i catch the tides right. Does anyone know if there is a mod you can do to the back seat to gain a few more inches of room?

My favorite place is anchored up on the inside for the first 2 hours of incoming...... we've boated some monsters there.

The way I gained a 1/4" or so was to add spacers (washers) under the bottom seat bolts. You can only gain so much height before you throw off the alignment of the bolts on the back wall. But a 1/4- 1/2 " makes a big difference in keeping your subs from hitting the underside of the seat.

beerking, you might be better off finding the specs of one (like the q-logic) and building it from mdf. most use 3/4 but with 8" subs i have had success using 1/2". if you have the tools, the material will cost less then $30. q-logic sells theirs for over $200! otherwise if you find a good audio shop they can easily build you one for $100 or less. note, you ideally want separate airspace with 2 subs or they will distort each other. however putting them under the seat compromises sound any way so it may not matter. good subs btw, i like kicker.
