I have the Jvc kw-avx810 and I really have liked the JVC so far, lots of features, had it for almost 2 years no problems. I Like the motion activated button lights, 5v pre-outs, easy to over ride parking brake switch, detatchable face, SD card slot, video inputs for back up cams, usb, etc..........

Wow, it's funny that I'm looking at these exact two units also. The JVC seems to have several advantages, the largest of which being built in Bluetooth. I think the Pioneer is more commonplace and would therefore have more support and the illumination/display settings are more versatile. I also think the gloss black of the Pioneer trim/buttons would look better in the Tundra. Take a look at these links:
It appears that the CEA-2006 RMS power rating is 20W/channel on the JVC and only 14W/channel on the Pioneer. The JVC also has a 24 bit d/a converter and 5v pre-amp outs. Based on specs alone, it seems that the JVC would provide better sound quality but I know thats not always the case.
I'm also on the fence about iPhone 3GS compatibility with these units. I would like to play video from my iPhone but information availability is limited at best.
Anybody else have input on these two units?
Thanks so much,
Wes

I'm using the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD and I love it! Go with the 4100, you won't be disappointed.
I'm leaning towards the 4100 right now because it costs less, I'm not too sure that I really need (or would even use) Bluetooth, and there are a few quirks about the JVC that I really don't like. I also feel more secure about purchasing the Pioneer because of how much more popular the unit is. This doesn't really mean the Pioneer is better but I think it may be a better fit for me.

I would think the sound quality would be almost the most important point? It was for me and if the JVC has built in bluetooth that is another plus. I also like the fact that everybody and his brother does not have the JVC.
Dang I also see crutchfield is offering a free rear veiw camera with the JVC!! Very nice.
