iPod AND XM for 2007 Tundra?

Hi,

I own a 2007 Tundra LTd with factory NAV and a VAIS XM adapter which allows the use of XM via the steering wheel controls and HU display. The XM unit plugs into the back of the HU.

I would like to add iPod functionality, as available in the 2010's, where the iPod controls can be used via the steering wheel/HU unit as well. I know I can plug the iPod into the AUX plug on the dash, but this gives no steering wheel/HU control/display. It appears I can't have both XM AND the iPod connected the way I want, at the same time, as the iPod interface from VAIS plugs into the same plug in the back of the HU as the XM does.

Is it possible to build a "Y" harness with a toggle or something that would allow me to have both plugged in, but, depending on the position of the toggle, allow the use of either the XM or the iPod?

I believe it is possible to do this with a USA SPEC iPod interface for Toyotas. I have one in my wifes Acura and it has an additional pass thru to plug in both, then the USA SPEC plugs into the cd changer port on the back of the HU.

Check Crutchfield for the USA SPEC interface. They have all the info on what it will do.
