Default JBL DSP questions....

I have a 2010 Tundrda Platinum w/ the JBL Nav system. The system is purported to have a 440w amplifier which is the 8 channel JBL DSP unit here:

JBL Premium Sound for Your New Toyota

After closer inspection, the unit appears to use line level inputs, and there is no way that it can produce 440 watts...its roughly 6"x10". It appears to be nothing more than a glorified crossover network. User "Old Heathen's" post seems to confirm that in this thread:

CrewMax LTD JBL Speaker upgrades?

That being said, I would like to replace my front door speakers. Currently, they are the stock 6x9's and 19mm tweeters. I am inclined to believe that they are crossed over at the JBL DSP. If that is the case, what is the best way to run a new component set (w/o adding a new amp), straight off of the DSP just like the OEM system? Ditch the aftermarket crossover?
