Default how do i get movies to play from my ipod onto my head unit?

i just downloaded a music video and a movie off of itunes. the movies both play on my computer, and both play on the screen of my ipod. when i plug my ipod into my Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD, it plays the sound from the movies, but i get no picture.....just a black screen. what do i need to do top get these movies to display?

Do you have the headunit bypassed so you can play movies while you drive? if not thats the problem right there.

You have to set up the AUX output.
1. Touch the source icon and then touch "OFF" to turn the unit off.
(The unit will be in demo mode)
2. Touch the screen to display the touch panel keys.
3. Touch AV Menu you should see "Inital Menu" and touch it.
4. Touch AUX 1 on the inital menu to select desired setting.
5. Touch it until Ipod is selected (make sure you have the CD-IU200V connected.
6. Touch ESC. Ipod video should work now.
7. See Page 50 in Operation Manual for more information.

just did that.......and it was already setup as you specified. i double checked everything, and still no picture.

this thread talks about using a different type of cord with the standard "RCA" plugs on it... i dont NEED that, do i?

X2

yeah you're going to need that usb/iPod cable in order to watch video on iPod...they're only like 20-30 bucks though.

here's what you need: Pioneer CD-IU200V

Crutchfield Canada

this can be purchased on ebay for cheaper, i'm sure!

Furthermore, if you have an iPod touch, you're out of luck....video out only works with the nano/classics to the best of my knowledge

From what they are saying, this cord is only outputting sound, no video.

Maybe try the tip that's listed towards the bottom of this link? :AVIC411.com • View topic - AVH-P4100DVD & iPod Video

Let us know if it works because I'm looking at the AVH-P4100DVD too!

I used to do this all the time. I had a $10 cord that had Red/White/Yellow RCA's on one end and a headphone jack on the other end but it had Yellow stripes instead of green or black on the actual metal, male-end Jack part.

I plugged the Red/Yellow/White jacks into my AUX Input on my old Alpine Head unit, and switch the source to AUX, and then played the videos on the Ipod.

Worked just as well as DVD's.
