Default How to fix loose cig lighter socket?

I bought an ipod stand that plugs into the cig lighter socket and the stand will tilt whenever I place the ipod in the holder because of the weight it shifts, turns out the inner metal part of the socket is loose and rotates. I wanted to know if there was anything I can do to make the inner part sturdy so it doesn't rotate at all?

Try some JB Weld on the inside and see if that works... I don't think it'll catch on fire right?

So I went to home depot today to see if they had anything that I can use for this application - nope, nothing! They reccomended going to PepBoy which was 300 yards away...so I went there and asked thier rep - nope, nothing again! It was worse because it's a AUTOMOTIVE store and they knew of nothing available, but the looks on thier faces were as if there were hearing another langauge.

Stick your thumb in there and rotate it until it locks in place. Twist with thumb and then pull with thumb to see if it locked. That should be all there is to it.

Take a look, this is what I'm talking about the inner piece spinning inside of the socket. I did the thumb adjustment and it didn't work out.

Any other suggestions?
