I am trying to install a 10 inch sub with the baffle by JnEsPappa in the TS store, but ran into a problem. The lip of the baffle is too high and won't let my seat rest. I have pictures in my gallery...
OK, after further inspection, there is going to have to me some foam carving done. Problem though: I did the rear seat mod when I first got the truck...
There is a metal support rod in the back of the seat and, through the foam, it is hitting the top of the baffle. I am going to have to undo the rear seat mod, which will place the metal support out of the swing arc, and give me more room to place the baffle. Man, why can't things ever be easy?
I am running into the same problem right now with the new bafffle lip
height. I have not done the rear seat mod, and even if I remove foam,
the metal support rod will still hit the top of the baffle. Please post results
if you are able to find a working solution. I plan to work with Jnespappa
offline to see if he has a workaround. Thanks!

I've already emailed the manufacturer but was wondering if anyone else has run into this, and what was done to fix it?
Wow, that doesn't look good at all! Way too much baffle to have the seat sit flush, no offense to Jnespappa. I think a 10" sub is just too big to fit in the rear compartment, if you want a "stealth" looking install. I have the Q-Logic box with (2) 8", more then enough bass that you will ever need in a Tundra. Install is stealth and the backseat is still useable.

No offense taken. It is a challenge to get a 10" sub in there, but the baffle is the solution to the problem. Who doesn't enjoy a good challenge?
It seems there is a metal brace inside the seat that mnichels baffle is supporting. Construction tolerances in the baffle and seat must have met in a bad way to produce these results. There are nearly 40 baffles out there now with 10 or 15 being the BP02. This is a minor problem which will be remedied ASAP.
I'll say again after using two 8's and one 10, I was much happier with the single 10, hence the Baffle project.

Well, I haven't had time to undo the rear seat mod, but if it still doesn't fit with the stock setting as mnichels says, I don't think I will.
It seems as though this would work if the baffle were turned 180 degrees, because the lip would not contend with the metal brace. Of course, this means a baffle redesign because the corners won't fit flush.

So what does remedied mean, future? I have a 2000 Tundra, did the rear seat change?
JnEsPappa, what is your official advice? I assume that you have one installed in a Tundra. Could you post pictures of whatever modifications you did to the seat, just for reference? Heck, I'd even create a step-by-step how-to with pictures if I could get the thing to fit nicely.
[QUOTE=mnichels]Hovisimo - You are using the BP01, right? I tried installing the BP02 last night
with a "stock" back seat, and the baffle was hitting the rear seat support
rod. I have not heard of this problem with the BP01, just the BP02 with the
You can also lift the rear seat up. Put the bolts in and just raise the back of the seat then tighten the bolts down. This may help with the fitment problem.

I would ask for a day or two while I take plenty of measurements in my own Tundra. I made several baffles with the raised lip sitting further back to give more of a mounting flange for the woofer. It seems I may have pushed the lip back too far, resulting in the metal rod to lip conflict. I have had three distinct models of the baffle in my own truck and never encountered this situation.
I will PM each of you in the next day or two if that is okay.

Mark If you need any help from me feel free to call me, you know the #, I can also measure my BP02 and see what I come up with to compare with the others you have made if need be.

I'm just glad to have help Take your time.
I haven't had a chance to undo the rear seat mod yet, and I can't really visualize how I can just lift up the seat... it seems that the bottom flange dictates the height of the seat, but it's been a while since I fooled with it. I'll confirm it when I take it all apart this weekend.
Okay, I installed several baffles and here's what I found:
**INSTALLED**
If I let the seat down gently it did come to rest just like in the photo by ZeusOfTundra. All I had to do to get the seat to sit flush with the other side was push down on it.
When I first saw the photo of the seat angled up I thought we had stumbled onto something new. However, this was taken into account when we developed the BP02 with IMDONE. Pushing down on the seat to lock it into place as a tradeoff for the improved clearance and resulting sub output. You can also try pressing the unlock tab when the seat is in the up position and let it rotate down on its own weight. 7 times out of 10 it will lock down on its own.
I hope this answers any concerns out there, but please feel free to PM, Email or even call me at home (337) 839-9134 if you feel you would like to discuss the baffle installation and use.
Thanks,
-Mark
BTW, I also added a few photos of the baffles in different stages of progress. You just gotta love Teddy Bear Fleece. **MY GALLERY**

Yes the bracket does dictate how high you can go but you can most likely lift it up about .5" - 1" which may give you enough to lower it easy and it may not stick.
You or will you allow someone who weights 200lbs.+ sit on your back seat? I don't think so, not without doing damage to your 10" sub and baffle! With the Q-Logic box the back seat is very useable, nothing gets in the way of the seat mechanically or the way the seat functions, and the (2) 8" subs sound very nice!
But can you or will you allow someone who weights 200lbs.+ sit on your back seat?
I do and have allowed 200lbs.+ coworkers to do just that while on our way to lunch. They get a kick out of the "tickling intestines" feeling from the bass.
There are plusses and minusses to both the QLogic box and the baffle. Neither one will suit all tastes in music, function or appearance. I am glad you enjoy your setup and thanks for asking questions. Someone else may have been wondering the same thing.
