Default Mounting depth of the Q-Logic dual 8 Tundra sub box?

Anybody know what the mounting depth of the Q-Logic sub box that fits the dual 8's in it is? I have never actually seen a number, just heard of people using subs that fit.

How hard would it be to add mounging depth by adding some sort of spacer between the sub and mounging surface on the Q-Logic box? Is there a better way to gain depth with this box? Thanks.

I have one in my Tundra. I think the mounting depth was about 4 5/8" or therabouts. I tried the Rockfords but went to the JL Audio's which I think sound a bit better. I guess you could use a spacer but keep in mind that it still has to keep the enclosure sealed and might get rather close to the bottom side of the seat when down. I think you need that small air cushion between the sub and seat. Also, if it's too deep in the enclosure you lose that space which might impact the performance of the subs themselves. They need a certain amount of enclosure space. I really like the JL's. They have plenty of "thump" for my tastes. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info.

How much room is there between the seat bottom and the top of the sub mounting surface on the Q-Logic box?

I agree with Zombie on the mounting depth. I just got mine in last night and measured from the bottom of the box to the top of the baffle in between the two speaker holes. 4-5/8" on the nose. I'm also going to get a set of JL Audio 8" subs for the q-logic, but I can't decide between the 8W0's or the 8W3v2's. What did you go with Zombie? WD-40, when I get the box installed, I'll measure the gap from the baffle to the seat.

I got mine from www.sounddomain.com . I believe it was $180.

As for subs, check out the RE subs. Way better sounding than any JL setup I've heard, and less than 1/2 the price.

I've got the JL Audio 8W3v2's (4 ohm) since they are DVC subs. I ordered them from Subwoofersetc.com and they are available in 2, 4 or 6 ohm. The QLogic box I got on ebay brand new from an audio company that had like 10 of them. I paid $160.00 plus shipping for the enclosure.

I got the Q-logic installed this weekend. Installation wasn't bad, but all the holes didn't line up perfectly. I had to take the three wood screws out so that the sealed MDF box was independent of the plastic housing. After that it was easy, but I still couldn't get the rear middle bolt in... there's no two ways about it, it just would not fit... so I left it out.
Anyway, Agent WD-40, I said that I'd get a measurement for you from the bottom of the seat to the mounting lip. I totally spaced it out yesterday, but I'll try to remember to do it tonight and get back to you.
Also, japes was asking me about the jl 8w3v2's, but they haven't come in yet. They'll be in tomorrow, and I'll install them this weekend and let you guys know about the installation/sound. I'm going to join the club and post some pictures too.

See ya

I measured the gap between the seat and the baffle to which the subs mount, and it's about 1-3/8"... give or take a sixteenth or two.

Thanks a lot for doing that. I'm thinking it would be fun to try and get some Elemental Deisgns 8's in the Q-Logic box. They have a 5" mounting depth. I was thinking of using a spacer to get them to fit and hoping they wouldn't hit the bottom of the seat.
