Default Replacement Bulb # for Rear Turn Signal on 03 Tundra.

I'd like to know what is the stock/part number for the rear turn signal bulbs, and can I purchase different colored bulbs from places like Autozone or Checker Auto Parts? The reason why I ask is I bought the Clear-Red-Clear non Euro style tail light covers for my truck (look about stocl), and I'd like to have the top color still amber, or if possible a bright red color. I might go with LED bulb replacements, but I do not know if they are legal in AZ or not. I'm also too lazy and tired (its late at night) to go look in the manual. Besides, I'm a man, and men don't need instructions (except maybe for women, but that book would be too bleepin' big).

Also, on a side note, has anyone rewired their tail light configuration such as having the brake lights rewired for the top position, and the turn signals on the bottom? Just curious more than anything else.

Thanks for the help, and any responses.

Now here's a man that's not too lazy. Congrats JB for your patience it's more than I could do given the same circumstance.

Regarding your LED thought...

If you change the signal lights to LED bulbs you can pick them up at www.superbrightleds.com ,however, you will need to also pick up the capacitors when ordering the bulbs becuase they will blink different and you will blow 15amp fuses left and right.

Trust me, I know from experience. The brake lights and backup lights you can replace with LEDs with no problem. I have done this. The blinkers front and rear are the picky ones.

Thanks for all of the help, it is greatly appreciated. Imdone, thank you very much for the warning on the LED lights. I may hold off on the installation of the LED lamps/lights until I get all of the neccessary hardware so I can get them installed right. The last thing I want is any problems.

Speaking of problems...
"Note: Bulbs that are a different color than the OEM bulbs may not be DOT / SAE approved. Depending on location and color, these bulbs may be for show car or off-road use only. According to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, turn signals must have an overall red or amber light output, and brake lights must have an overall red light output. Parking, driving, and license plate light requirements vary from state to state. Check local laws before using.

That is a quote I found in regards to a compatible Xenon red colored light on CarDomain.com. I was hoping not to have problems, but I guess I'll have to go about my lights another way (such as spray painting them red) or stick with the stock tail lights that I hate. Unless someone else has a better suggestion.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to this old thread that I had started, I was able to find the right bulb type for my glove box light that burnt out.

check out Jusnes Modified, The Art of E-commerce , they have both red 3157 (brake/tail) and amber 3157A (turn) replacement LED bulbs. I haven't ordered any yet, but will as soon as they answer my question about whether the amber ones are sold singly or in pairs. There's a bit of ambiguity there, but I suspect pairs since the price is the same.

Did you ever find a regular amber bulb for your rear turn signal?
